The Coffee County Highway Department manages the County’s Road and Bridge network. Management of this network is done through the unit system, a system by which the County Commission employs a County Engineer who supervises and directs the daily operations of the County’s Highway Department. Presently, the county’s road and bridge network consists of 529 miles of paved road, 231 miles of unpaved road, and 153 bridge structures.
The County Engineer is also responsible for regulating the subdivision and development of land in the County's unincorporated areas. All division of land is subject to the County's Subdivision Regulations. These regulations may be viewed and printed from this website or purchased at the Coffee County Engineer's Office.
Any citizen who has a county road maintenance request is encouraged to contact the County Engineer's Office at (334) 894-6112.
